Adriaan Rees
BIO
Adriaan Rees first came to JIngdezhen in 2000, eventually starting his own studio in the Sculpture Factory in 2006. Adriaan was the fist foreigner in Jingdezhen to have an independent studio.
In 2007 he initiated and organized the Exchange project Delft - Jingdezhen, and became Chief of Exchange for the city of Delft and curator and organizer for the artist's exchanges and exhibitions. Exhibitions such as The Blue Revolution in museums in Delft, Jingdezhen and Dongguan. Since 2008 Adriaan organized the Delft Holland booth at the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair.
Rees is known for his large-scale projects and assignments for public space. He makes sculptures and installations in many materials such as ceramics, bronze, glass, textiles, plaster and stone. He also works with photography and video.
